Source coverage and gender verification
2026: 136,722 entries from the IEC's 16 September publication across nine provinces and 257 municipalities. The People's Register publishes the source-derived snapshot under CC BY 4.0, attributed to the IEC and The People's Register. It differs by 68 from the IEC's announced 136,790 count; three source rows have no name. Later court-related reinstatements, including Free State's 23 October supplement, have not yet been merged into this snapshot.
2024: 14,888 dated national, regional and provincial entries. The IEC reported slightly different counts in other releases. A candidate can appear on several lists.
Gender: Individual gender is recorded only where a linked person-level official source explicitly documents it. An absent label means not verified, not that the person is male. The IEC's 2026 national aggregate cannot classify individual names.
